Queens Park Rangers host Millwall on Wednesday night in what is set to be a frenetic London derby under the lights at Loftus Road.

Steve McClaren’s side have had an upturn in form recently, remaining unbeaten in their last three league matches, winning two.

Their latest victory came away at strong early starters Bolton Wanderers, scoring two of their three shots on target.

Millwall, meanwhile arrested a slump of three straight defeats with a credible draw at home to league leaders Leeds on the weekend, despite conceding in the 89th minute for parity to be restored.

Last time these two met in west London, Neil Harris’ men were 2-0 up with ten men and let that lead split before the game ended all square.

Both sides will be looking to get the win on this occasion and push themselves up the league after below-par starts.

With that said, Sky Sports’ David Prutton looks ahead to tomorrow night’s fixture.

The former footballer said: “Slowly but surely QPR are starting to improve under Steve McClaren and have now picked up a few decent points and even won on the road at the weekend!

“Millwall threw away more late points against Leeds and are struggling in the bottom half of the table at the minute. This will be a close game, but I have to go with QPR 2-1.”

The Verdict

It is going to be a war of attrition, these derby games usually are.

Millwall edge it regarding experience, and that should count for something come tomorrow evening.

It will be interesting how the Lions react to dropping more late points, but on their day they are a handful for anyone.

QPR still have vulnerabilities, and if they concede first, then you could imagine that their confidence will be low.

If Neil Harris’ side get the first goal, I can see them going on to win it, 2-0 Millwall.
