Middlesbrough have shown real improvement in recent weeks, as they look to pull themselves further clear of the relegation zone in the Championship.
Boro have lost just once in their last six league games, and they’ll be hoping they can continue that impressive run of form in the second tier when they return to action on Tuesday evening.
Jonathan Woodgate’s side host Birmingham City in what could potentially be a tricky test for an in-form Middlesbrough team that will be eager to get back to winning ways after a narrow defeat to Fulham on Friday.
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit David Prutton has issued his thoughts ahead of the game, and predicted that Jonathan Woodgate’s side would come out on top at the Riverside.
“Middlesbrough’s fine run of form came to an end at Fulham on Friday, but Jonathan Woodgate’s side had only played Tottenham a few days before and gave a decent account of themselves at Craven Cottage.
“Birmingham got a decent draw against Cardiff at the weekend, and once again everyone will be watching Jude Bellingham after another goal for the 16-year-old. What a season he is having! That being said, I fancy Boro to bounce back in this one.”
A win for Middlesbrough could see them move up to 15th in the Championship table, and they’ll fancy their chances of coming away with a win against a Blues side that are one place below them heading into the game on Tuesday.

I think Middlesbrough will run out winners in this one.
Birmingham haven’t been good enough this season, and I think Jonathan Woodgate’s side will be too much to handle for the Blues on Tuesday evening.
I’ll be the first to admit that I had my doubts as to whether Middlesbrough would survive in the Championship this term, but a recent turnaround in form has proven me wrong.
I agree with Prutton in saying that Jude Bellingham will be key to posing a threat to the Middlesbrough on the night, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Middlesbrough man-marking him throughout the contest as he’s been impressive in recent weeks.
