Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has issued his prediction ahead of the midweek clash between Millwall and Birmingham City at The Den on Wednesday night.

A Shaun Hutchinson own goal condemned Millwall to a weekend defeat against Wigan Athletic at The DW but, back on home soil, they will surely be full of confidence again.

However, with Birmingham unbeaten in their last eight games in the Championship it will not be easy for them.

A spirited climax from the Blues saw them steal a point from Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, with Scott Hogan firing home late on to make the game 3-3.

Birmingham could also climb above The Lions with a win this week, although a win for Gary Rowett's side could see them move to within seven points of the play-offs.

But Prutton believes that neither side will be taking three points from this match, predicting that Millwall's tough home stature and Birmingham's current form will see a 2-2 draw played out at The Den.

The verdict

I think this prediction is fair enough from Prutton and his logic behind the 2-2 shout makes a lot of shout.

Personally, I fancy Millwall to take this one. They will have the physical edge over the Blues which will limit Clotet's approach and with Birmingham having played near enough the same side for so many weeks, I fancy those minutes to finally catch up with them.

It is a tough one to call, and in their current form Birmingham could well still win comfortably, but I will plump for a 2-1 Millwall win myself.
