Sky Sports pundit predicts clear winner in Sheffield United and Swansea clash

Published

on

Swansea City travel to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United on Saturday evening, and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has looked ahead to the clash of the two sides.

Graham Potter is set to take charge of his first competitive gave in the Championship as his Swans side look to recover from the disappointment of relegation last season.

The last time these two sides met the match ended in a 4-0 win for the Welsh team seven years ago as the Swans secured promotion to the Premier League.

That was their last regular season game in the second tier, and ironically it will be their first since their stint in the top division.

Prutton feels that Swansea’s squad is weaker than the other two sides that were relegated last season, and thinks that with a new manager lacking Championship experience, the result is only going to go one way.

A 2-0 win for the Blades is predicted by the former Sheffield Wednesday man, with Leon Clarke to score first.

The Verdict

You would have to agree with Prutton’s prediction there.

Swansea are a far weaker side that their relegated counterparts, and look weaker than some of the current teams in the division.

It will be a tough ask for Graham Potter to steer his side to a positive result at Bramall Lane.

The place will be rocking for the opening fixtures, and with Chris Wilder’s shrewd summer recruitment, only one outcome is looking likely.

It has to be a nailed on Sheffield United win, but Swansea to score first. 3-1 Blades.
