Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has predicted Middlesbrough to bounce back from recent losses when they host struggling Millwall at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

Neil Warnock's men have been knocking on the door of the top-six, but following two defeats on the bounce at Stoke City in Preston North End, Boro have slipped six points adrift off the pace.

However, much of Boro's negative results have come on the road, so they'll be grateful to return home after two difficult away trips, and should fancy their chances against Lions side that's gone nine without a win.

The big festive Middlesbrough quiz: Can you get 20/20?

Gary Rowett's men came from behind to earn a share of the spoils in their London derby with Queens Park Rangers in midweek, although Millwall have now collected just six points from a possible 27 since winning at Preston in late-October - which marks their worst run since for almost six years.

Boro are unbeaten in their previous five meetings with Millwall, although three of those have been drawn - with these games historically close in terms of the scoreline.

With that in mind, Prutton has predicted another closely contested match on Teeside, although he thinks Warnock's will edge the Lions out (1-0).

The Verdict

If ever a game had a low-scoring draw written all over it, then it's this one.

They've had a combined total of 15 draws in the league this season, and with the pair two of the lowest scorers in the Championship, this doesn't exactly have the ingredients of a classic.

In fact, I think they'll cancel each other out in a goalless draw at the Riverside.
