Bristol City and Swansea City meet at Ashton Gate this weekend, with David Prutton backing the pair to play out an entertaining draw at BS3.

It's been a reasonably steady start for both these sides in the Championship this season.

For Dean Holden and Bristol City, they enter the weekend second in the table, trailing Reading by three points. However, they do prepare to take on Swansea on the back of their first defeat of the season against Middlesbrough over the week.

In terms of the Swans, they've worked their way into sixth, with 11 points on the board. Steve Cooper's side have dropped five points over the course of the last two games, though.

For David Prutton, he's expecting to see them drop more points this weekend against Bristol City, but still come out with something.

In his Sky Sports predictions, he's gone for a 2-2 draw.

Prutton wrote: "A slip for Bristol City this week, but that is always going to happen and it's how Dean Holden and his side bounce back from it that counts. They have to experience in the squad to do that.

"Swansea have also had a mixed week. Losing to Huddersfield then drawing at Coventry. This has all the makings of a draw, and I do fancy some goals."

The Robins have an outside chance of moving back to the top of the table this weekend with a win, but a relying on Reading getting beaten and their goal difference taking a hit.

For Swansea, they are looking over their shoulders as Brentford close in on the play-off places.

The Verdict

Both these sides like to get forwards, so Prutton is probably right to predict goals.

I'm intrigued to see how Bristol City react to a defeat this weekend. Boro are going well under Neil Warnock, but that was still a surprise midweek result.

Swansea are also due a win, so I'd potentially be edging towards an away win.
