Norwich City would need 'ridiculous money' to sell their star players this month, according to Andy Hinchcliffe.

The Canaries are going great guns in the Championship table and find themselves four points clear at the top of the league after picking up 50 points from just 24 games.

A large part of that success has been Daniel Farke's ability to keep the bulk of his promotion-winning squad together despite interest from elsewhere.

Emi Buendia has attracted plenty of interest so far this season with Arsenal said to be keen on a move, while Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons are also said to be in-demand.

But while Norwich can't do anything about clubs sniffing around their players, Hinchcliffe believes that the Canaries are in a strong position to keep hold of their stars with promotion firmly in their sights.

Speaking on the Sky Sports EFL Podcast, Hinchcliffe said: “It shows how important it was to keep Daniel Farke at the club when they were relegated.

“You can see the benefit and the continuity that it brought.

“If it’s continuity that you want then you have to keep your best players like Buendia, Cantwell, Aaron. If they don’t have to sell any of those players then I don’t see why they would unless they got ridiculous money in for them.

“I don’t see Norwich selling any of their key players.

“Buendia in particular has been quite brilliant this season.

“If they can keep all of those players then they look like the most complete team at the moment.”

Quiz: Have any of these 22 players ever been in Norwich City’s academy?

The Verdict

Norwich City are in a really strong position this season.

While their players are attracting a lot of interest there's a feeling that they'll be able to keep hold of them due to the fact that they're firmly on track to be a Premier League side next term.

Providing that the club pull off promotion it's likely that they won't have a problem - the only issue will be if they fall short and stay in the Championship for another season.
