Huddersfield Town

Sky Sports pundit makes interesting prediction ahead of Newcastle v Huddersfield

Writing in his prediction column for Sky Sports, David Prutton confirmed he is expecting Huddersfield Town to shock Newcastle United tomorrow evening and pick up a vital three-points in the race for promotion.

Huddersfield welcome league leaders Newcastle to the John Smith’s Stadium, in what is a crucial clash at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table, and Prutton believes it will be the Terriers who come out on top, defeating Rafa Benitez’s side 2-1.

Both sides suffered differing fortunes during the week, with Newcastle returning to the top of the Championship table with a late victory over Brighton, while Huddersfield crashed out of the FA Cup, losing 5-1 to Manchester City.

Benitez’s side staged a late comeback to defeat Brighton on Tuesday night, and despite that, Prutton believes they will come unstuck against Huddersfield, he said: “Newcastle will have been buoyed by the result at Brighton, but Huddersfield have shown they can go up against the top teams in the division and win.”

Huddersfield currently sit third in the Championship table, six-points behind Brighton and Hove Albion and trailing Newcastle by eight.

Victory on Saturday evening will see David Wagner’s side hurl themselves into the race for automatic promotion, but if Benitez’s side can pick up three-points, they will move 11-points clear of third place and in a magnificent position to secure a Premier League return.
