Sky Sports pundit makes entertaining prediction as Huddersfield Town prepare to host Watford

Huddersfield Town host Watford tomorrow in the Sky Bet Championship, with David Prutton expecting to see goals at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Last weekend was a rough lesson for Huddersfield, who were well beaten by AFC Bournemouth on the road. The Cherries won 5-0 against the Yorkshire side, strengthening their position in the promotion race.

Since then, Carlos Corberan’s side have drawn 0-0 with Coventry City, but taking on Watford is a different task and very similar to the one they faced last weekend at Bournemouth.

Vladimir Ivic has guided his side to third in the table at this stage, with Watford – along with Norwich City and Bournemouth – looking well placed to bounce straight back after relegation from the Premier League.

The Hornets are unbeaten in three, having got the better of Rotherham United and Birmingham City, as well as drawing with Brentford last time out.

However, despite Watford’s lofty league position and the fact that Huddersfield have struggled against teams of the Hornets’ ilk, David Prutton has predicted an entertaining 2-2 draw in his weekly prediction column for Sky Sports.

The Verdict

This is an important game for Huddersfield, not just in terms of getting a result, but because they need to start convincing themselves they can compete with everyone in the division.

Watford are like Bournemouth in terms of quality, so a positive performance is the thing that is needed this weekend maybe even more than a result.

For me, Watford look too strong. However, Huddersfield are a side that have a lot of good results under their belts in home fixtures this season, so it does tee it up nicely.

If I was pushed on a result, I’d be leaning towards an away win.
