Cardiff City will be looking for a seventh consecutive win when they travel to Brentford tonight in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Welsh side have been in magnificent form in recent months and have managed to close the gap on leaders Wolves to just three points.

However, whilst some fans will be looking up, Aston Villa and Fulham have been in fantastic form themselves just behind Cardiff, with Steve Bruce’s men trailing the Bluebirds by four points.

With Villa and Wolves both having winnable home games against QPR and Reading tonight, Cardiff will know that any slip-up could be very costly even if it is a tough game.

It’s also pivotal for the hosts who must win to stand any chance of making the play-offs, with the Bees currently eight points behind sixth place with their game in hand tonight.

And, EFL pundit David Prutton believes that Neil Warnock’s side will leave London with another three massive points, predicting a 2-1 away win in his Sky Sports column, with Junior Hoilett to score first.

The Verdict

This is a very difficult test for Cardiff as Brentford are a strong side but they won’t fear anyone given how they've been playing.

Neil Warnock’s side are hitting form at just the right time and they will know the importance of another victory tonight given the fixtures.

Even though there are ten games to go, you get the feeling this is a big week for Cardiff with trips to Brentford then Derby.
