It's another all-Yorkshire clash in the Sky Bet Championship tonight when Huddersfield Town host Barnsley at the John Smith's Stadium.

Huddersfield come into the match in great form having won three of their last four matches, including last time out against Middlesbrough on Easter Monday when goals from Naby Sarr and Jordan Rhodes were enough to secure all three points.

Their opponents meanwhile, are arguably in even greater need of the points from this clash tonight, given that their relegation could be confirmed if they fail to win.

Currently, Barnsley are 11 points behind from safety with them having 12 points left to play for.

Their survival chances are slim then, but whilst they still have a chance, they will no doubt continue to fight.

With that being said, Sky Sports pundit and EFL expert David Prutton has issued his score prediction for the match, opting for a home victory.

Speaking in his Sky Sports column, he wrote: "Huddersfield are as good as in the play-offs now."

"What a season it has been for them under Carlos Corberan - I can't speak highly enough of what they've done."

"Barnsley, meanwhile, are on the cusp of the drop."

"It will happen sooner or later, it's just about whether they can avoid it happening on Friday night. I don't think they can in truth. Prutton predicts: 2-0."

The Verdict

It feels inevitable that Barnsley will suffer relegation this season but they will really want to avoid it being confirmed away at a fellow Yorkshire side.

Huddersfield meanwhile, will want to keep up their momentum and take it with them into the play-offs, which they now will surely reach.

How the game goes tonight depends on whether or not Barnsley have accepted their fate.

If they have, Huddersfield Town may well put away more than just the two goals David Prutton is predicting.
