Exclusive: Sky Sports pundit issues promising verdict on Nottingham Forest to FLW

Nottingham Forest had been struggling in front of goal in recent months but their attack burst into life with a stunning 5-2 win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

The result was a glimpse into what Forest fans can expect when Aitor Karanka’s masterplan clicks into gear and the host of players that were brought in during the January transfer window finally gel.

That is the view of Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Scott Saunders, who is impressed with the players the former Boro man has brought to the City Ground.

He told FLW: “They brought in a lot of players in the January window, it’s going to take them time to click in the style Karanka wants to play.

“The players they’ve brought in are very strong players at Championship level. Lee Tomlin is a very, very, very good Championship player but hasn’t played the minutes he’d have liked in the past year.

“Now he’s gone to Forest, hopefully he’ll get some more minutes. They’re only going to get stronger under Karanka. You can’t bring in six or seven players on deadline day and expect them all to hit the ground running.

“It’s going to take time and it’s a big club. They’ve got big players, who have done it in the Championship and, for a lot of the players, in the Premier League.”
