Wycombe will be looking to end their miserable run of Championship defeats when they host highflying Watford to Adams Park this evening.

Gareth Ainsworth's men came within seconds of putting their first point on the board at Norwich City on Saturday, but lost out to a Mario Vrancic stoppage-time free-kick to suffer a sixth straight league loss.

Despite their dismal run of form, the Chairboys have performed far better on home soil and were unfortunate not to come away with something to show for their efforts against Millwall earlier this month. Watford also suffered added-time heartache against Bournemouth in the early kick-off at the weekend - conceding a last-gasp equaliser to deny them a third victory on the bounce. With Bristol City not playing until Wednesday, just avoiding defeat here could see Hornet's climb into the top-two, but they'll no doubt be targeting maximum points in Buckinghamshire. Vladimir Ivic's men are clear favourites heading to Adams Park, so what does Sky Sports pundit David Prutton think? He has predicted a comfortabe 3-1 victory for the visitors. He told Sky Sports: "There have been signs of improvement for Wycombe of late and that last-gasp Mario Vrancic winner for Norwich last time out was a real kick in the teeth, meaning their search for their first second-tier point continues. "They come up against a Watford side who were so stubborn in defence against Bournemouth and showed just why they have not conceded more than one goal in each of their games so far. Routine away win here, for me."
The Verdict Wycombe have proved slightly more difficult to beat at Adams Park, but I cannot see any other result here than a Watford win. The hosts have conceded 15 times already, this most in the division, and whilst the Hornets aren't exactly free-scoring, I expect their class to show, meaning a 2-0 success.
