Watford will be looking to build off their impressive Friday night victory at Derby County as they take on Blackburn Rovers at Vicarage Road in their first meeting for almost six years on Wednesday evening.

Joao Pedro's stunner at Pride Park earned the Hornets their third Championship win of the campaign and kept Vladimir Ivic's men firmly in the promotion picture.

Meanwhile, Blackburn had made an excellent start to the campaign, but were surprisingly beaten by Nottingham Forest at Ewood Park and have slipped down to 12th in the table following Tuesday's results. Rovers might be six places below Watford, but know that a first win at Vicarage Road for 19 years would see Tony Mowbray's men climb into the top-six, as long as Stoke fail to beat Barnsley.

But what does Sky Sports pundit David Prutton think? He has predicted an entertaining 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road. He told Sky Sports: "How good was Joao Pedro's winner for Watford against Derby last week?! The teenager rescued three big points late on at Pride Park to maintain the early momentum for Vladimir Ivic's side and keep them within touching distance of the summit. "Blackburn have slipped ever so slightly since a bright September when they scored 12 and conceded just two in three games and may be able to put the narrow defeat to Chris Hughton's Nottingham Forest down to new manager bounce. There's no separating these two, for me." The Verdict Blackburn are the top goalscorers in the Championship, but Watford have already beaten tricky opponents in Middlesbrough and Luton Town at home. Meanwhile, the Hornets have conceded just once in 450 minutes of football, so I'm expecting another extremely tight affair that the hosts will edge 1-0 once again.
