Leeds United will host Derby County in the second leg of the Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-finals on Wednesday night, after an eventful clash at the weekend.

Frank Lampard's side go into the clash at Elland Road trailing by a goal to nil, thanks to Kemar Roofe's first goal since January which secured an invaluable 1-o win for the Whites.

Marcelo Bielsa's men will now be hoping to get themselves over the line and book their place in the final at Wembley, as they prepare to host Derby at Elland Road.

It was a fiery affair on Saturday, not just because of the "spygate" controversies earlier on in the season, but especially after the referee's decision to award a penalty was overturned by the linesman.

It is undoubtedly the biggest game in both teams' seasons, so what does David Prutton predict? The former Leeds man has predicted a 1-1 draw, which will see Leeds win 2-1 on aggregate.

He said: "Kemar Roofe scored the winner at Pride Park, but he's out of the second leg, and it will have been a frustration for Leeds fans that he's not been available for so much of the season due to injury. I think he'll be a big miss.

"I think it'll be a feisty game, which is what we all like to see in the play-offs, and I can see Leeds sneaking through. That would set-up a final against Villa, which would be decent given how we've seen them go up against each other during the course of the season.

"All four teams have been fantastic, and regardless of who reaches the final, it'll be a packed out Wembley, but a Leeds-Villa final would have a really nice edge to it. Villa had wonderful form to get into it, and Leeds, the frustration of missing out on the automatic places could give them the added impetus to get through in the play-offs."

Unfortunately for Leeds, Roofe will be missing on Wednesday night with a calf injury, so Patrick Bamford will be hoping to step up against his former side.

The Verdict

Before today's news, I would have said that Leeds will come out on top, but I feel less confident about their chances now after Roofe's injury.

He was tremendous when leading the line on Saturday, but to have him missing is a massive blow for Leeds, and a massive boost for Derby.

I still think, though, Leeds will come out on top in front of their home fans, and they will book their place in the play-off final.
