Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has provided his weekly Championship predictions, with the former midfielder turning his attentions to managerless Sunderland’s home clash with Millwall.

The Black Cats are in total disarray, and have failed to appoint a new man at the helm despite a two week international break providing chairman Ellis Short time to source a new boss.

Prutton claims it is clear the club had no plan in place following the sacking of Simon Grayson, and that they could suffer this weekend in the midst of all the uncertainty.

Millwall at yet to win away from home this weekend, with Neil Harris’ side lying deep into the bottom half the table.

The Lions have looked good at The Den this season, but away form could be the determining factor between another year of Championship football, and an instant return to League One.

Prutton expects Harris’ men to break the mould this weekend however and pile more misery of the hopeless hosts, and predicts the Londoners to come away from The Stadium of Light with three points in a 1-0 success.

The Verdict

Sunderland are in pieces at the moment, and back-to-back relegations is looking like an increasingly likely scenario.

The players lack guidance and direction, and with so much media attention surrounding the club at this time, the playing staff cannot be blamed for becoming distracted.

The situation and future of the club is unclear, and I am in agreement with Prutton that the visitors could stick the boot in this weekend.
