Middlesbrough travel to Ipswich this evening looking to improve on their draw with Hull at the weekend.

They are on the road against one of the division's struggling sides for the second time in four days, but after being held by Nigel Adkins side, they'll be hoping for three points to remain in touch with Leeds and West Brom above them.

Ipswich are one of three teams in the Football League without a win this season, but they're also undefeated at home, registering five draws. Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes it is going to be a tight game, decided by the odd goal.

"Ipswich were halfway to their first win of the season against Birmingham at the weekend, but they let it go in the second half, so I just think they seem very, very vulnerable, especially against a Boro side who have started with ridiculous defensive strength," he wrote in his regular 'Prutton Predicts' column.

"Paul Hurst's men may be low on confidence after that so you just feel that Boro will go there, they won't find it easy, but I think they'll get the win."

He's going for a 1-0 Middlesbrough victory, with Britt Assombalonga to score the only goal of the game.

Ipswich were leading Birmingham 2-0 at half time this weekend, but a Lukas Jutkiewicz brace ensured they settled for a draw, their first point on the road this season.

The Verdict

I can see Boro being undone here. Ipswich are decent at home, they're not exciting going forward but they're built on a solid enough defence.

They've conceded fewer at home this season than leaders West Brom and with Boro only scoring five in their five away games., it isn't going to be a classic. It's got a low-scoring draw written all over it.
