Two teams from the top four face one another this weekend when West Bromwich Albion host Sheffield United at the Hawthorns.

Both sides head into the game on the back of wins in their last fixtures, and have similar form, too.

Sheffield United have one defeat in their last six, as do the Baggies, but it’s the Blades who have a longer unbeaten run – five compared to their opponents this weekend with four.

A win for the Blades could well take them top of the table, but a defeat could see them slip to fourth.

Darren Moore’s men know they need a win to keep their hopes of a top-two finish alive.

It’s one of the games of the Championship, and certainly the match of the weekend in the EFL.

And ahead of the game, Sky Sports enlisted the help of footballer-turned-pundit David Prutton to predict the outcome of this particular fixture.

The EFL presenter said: "That was a big, big win for West Brom at QPR in midweek. To nick it at the last minute and put themselves within just a few points of the leading pack was massive for them.

"Sheffield United are in good form, but this is a tough trip for them. A victory for the Baggies would well and truly turn this into a four-horse race for promotion, but I think the Blades could edge it, 2-3."

The verdict

Sheffield United have won their last six at Bramall Lane, but it is their away from that is letting them down.

Two wins in six and no wins in their last three; this could well be a tall order for Chris Wilder’s side.

West Brom, meanwhile, have been impressive on the road but poor at home with one win in their last six matches – and none in their last four.

If the game goes on form, then it looks like it could be a draw – and I think that will be the likeliest result.
