Aston Villa will hope to get back to winning way against Hull City tomorrow, knowing that they need three points if they are to have any chance of catching the top two.

Back-to-back shock defeats against QPR and Bolton have left Steve Bruce's men seven points behind Cardiff City in second, whilst the Welsh side also have a game in hand.

However, Neil Warnock's side do have to go to Villa Park later on in the season which provides the West Midlands outfit with a chance of closing the gap.

Yet, the immediate focus will be on beating Hull in what is a tricky encounter for Villa and pundit David Prutton reckons they will drop more points at the KCOM Stadium.

The former Leeds midfielder went for a 2-2 draw in his regular Sky Sports prediction column, with Lewis Grabban to open the scoring.

The striker has hit four in eight since arriving from Bournemouth in January.

Despite Hull's lowly position, with the Tigers 18th in the table, they have only lost one home game since November, proving what a difficult challenge Villa face.

The Verdict

Hull's home form means this is a tricky game for Villa, although there's no getting away from the fact it's a game they will expect to win.

Bruce can send his side to go all-out for the win at his old club, as picking up a point is no good to the side and they don't have to worry about being caught by the play-off pack yet.

Even though they've lost their last two games, Villa were flying prior to that and it's down to the players to rediscover that form to salvage their automatic promotion hopes.
