Cardiff City will be looking to strengthen their grip on sixth-place in the Championship when they return to action on Tuesday evening.

The Bluebirds are currently sat sixth in the table, but have a number of teams chasing them for that spot heading into the final three matches of this year's campaign.

One of those teams that are in contention to challenge Neil Harris' side for their spot in the play-offs is Derby County, who are sat tenth in the table.

The Rams take on Cardiff City on Tuesday evening, in a match that could ultimately decide which team finishes in the top-six in the second tier this term.

Sky Sports' EFL pundit David Prutton has issued his thoughts ahead of the game, and predicted a 2-2 draw between the two sides on Tuesday.

"Cardiff have lost their last two games, but luckily for them no one below has really stepped up and taken advantage, so it's still in their hands.

"Derby have lost their way at the wrong time, but that's probably mostly to do with the fact that they've faced some really good sides in their last few games. They need a win, but I think this will be a draw."

Derby will be looking to get back to winning ways at the earliest of opportunities, after back-to-back defeats in recent matches saw them drop to tenth in the Championship table.

The Verdict:

I think this is a realistic prediction.

Derby and Cardiff have both impressed me since returning to competitive action, and I think it'll be a match with goals, that's for sure!

Both teams will be looking to pick up a much-needed three points to get into sixth-spot in the Championship, and I think this game could be the season-defining match for them.

If any team will sneak a win, I think it'll be Derby, but a draw certainly seems realistic.
