Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has suggested that Huddersfield Town and Hull City will not be able to be separated in their clash on Saturday with him believing they will share he spoils in an entertaining game.

Huddersfield head into the game aiming to keep their mini unbeaten run going. That comes with the Terriers having picked up four points from their last two Championship matches against Blackburn Rovers and Luton Town ahead of the international break.

Carlos Corberan’s side have had a much better start to the season than most were predicting at the start of the campaign and they are currently sat in 7th place in the table just a point adrift of the play-off places.

The Terriers had suffered back-to-back defeats against Nottingham Forest and Swansea City before their last two matches. That shows that they have to be at their very best to pick up results week in and week out in the English second tier.

Hull City, meanwhile, finally ended their long wait for a second league win of the campaign last time out when they secured a 2-0 victory against Middlesbrough.

That saw them pick up all three points for the first time at home this term and also for the first time since their opening day win at Preston.

Grant McCann’s side will be needing to show that result was not a one off. It is important that they continue to try and cause problems for opposing defences as they did against Middlesbrough. That comes with goals having been a major issue for the Tigers for most of the first 11 Championship matches.

Making his latest round of predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton suggested that neither Huddersfield or Hull will be able to take all three points from this fixture. He believes it could be an entertaining clash with both sides scoring twice in a 2-2 draw.

The verdict

This is a really important first game back from the international break for both of these two sides and Huddersfield will be aiming to continue their upward momentum by taking all three points from a game where they might be expected to win considering the two sides’ respective form.

These are the games that Huddersfield are going to have to try and win this season if they are going to be able to sustain their challenge for the play-offs.

It will be interesting to see how they handle that pressure and whether they can achieve a victory in such circumstances.

Hull, meanwhile, have to keep on performing like they did last time out in their win against Middlesbrough. The international break might not have come at the best time for the Tigers after that much-needed victory but it at least gave them time to regroup and recharge.

You can see Prutton being right that this might end in a stalemate because both sides have vulnerabilities but are also not in too bad of place following their last results.
