Sunderland continued their dismal season with a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the week that keeps them rooted to the bottom of the league.
The Black Cats are four points from safety and have played a game more than the sides above them ahead of tomorrow’s trip to QPR.
Quite simply, if Chris Coleman’s men are to have any chance of preserving their Championship status they will need to pick up wins quickly – starting at Loftus Road.
However, EFL pundit David Prutton is predicting more misery for the north east club, revealing in his Sky Sports column that he expects the Londoners to win 1-0 tomorrow.
That would be a hammer blow for Sunderland but you can’t really argue with his thinking. The Wearside club have won just three of their 18 games on the road, whereas QPR’s home form would see them in the top-half.
As well as that, Coleman’s side have conceded 12 goals in their previous five away matches, although one glimmer of hope was the point they got at Millwall last time on their travels.
Sunderland are in a desperate position and need points as soon as possible, so will have to go for the win tomorrow.
You have to say, a victory looks unlikely given their recent performances and not many would argue with Prutton’s prediction.
As well as that, Tyias Browning’s injury has given Coleman a real defensive headache ahead of the game.
