Former Leeds United midfielder David Prutton reckons that having Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez back will lift everyone connected to the Yorkshire club.

The duo were crucial in the Whites early season success, however they've missed over a month, during which time results have suffered slightly.

Therefore, all Leeds fans were delighted to hear that the pair will be involved against Blackburn this afternoon but Prutton thinks that will also be the case in the dressing room.

Writing in his Yorkshire Evening Post column, the Sky Sports pundit compared their influence to that of Jermaine Beckford during his time at Elland Road.

"If Becks went missing, it planted a little seed in the team’s collective head."

"It’s probably not true to claim that any individual player in this current squad at Leeds is as decisive as Jermaine was in League One but you’re not telling me that the return of Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe this weekend won’t give everyone else a little injection of mojo."

Marcelo Bielsa's men know a victory at Ewood Park in the midday kick-off will take them top of the Championship, even if it's only for a few hours.

The Verdict

This is a good insight from Prutton into how a dressing room works and you can't argue with his assessment.

Hernandez and Roofe were superb at the beginning of the season and they are two standout individuals in this group, so it's inevitable that their returns will boost the squad.

It's now down to the duo to rediscover their best form and get the side back to winning ways today.
