David Prutton believes that Birmingham City’s miserable run will continue when they travel to take on fellow strugglers QPR tomorrow.
Blues haven’t kicked on since their opening day win over Brentford and are now without a win in five, having managed just two goals in that period.
And, even though they are coming up against an R’s side that has an identical record, the Sky Sports pundit backed Mark Warburton’s side to seal all three points with a 1-0 victory in his regular online column.
The Londoners also go into the game on the back of a defeat, having lost 2-0 at home to Preston last time out, a result which condemned them to their first home loss of the campaign.
Even at this very early stage, both sides will be desperate for a win as they look to close the five-point gap that has opened up on the play-off places.
The two last met in February when a Scott Hogan double ensured Blues left with a point following an entertaining 2-2 draw.
In truth, this is a very tough game to call as both sides are struggling for form right now but they do have quality on the pitch.
Normally, you would side with the home team in a fixture like this but that advantage is obviously significantly reduced with no fans.
Generally, Birmingham have been solid at the back but toothless going forward so you can understand why Prutton thinks it will be a low-scoring game and the first goal will be crucial.
