Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has been providing his predictions ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, with Nottingham Forest’s clash with Hull City one of the games to catch the eye of the former Leeds United man.

Both sides have struggled this season and have been forced into managerial changes, with Forest brining in Aitor Karanka to replace Mark Warburton, and the Tigers swapping former Russia boss Leonid Slutsky for Nigel Adkins.

The Reds lie nine points above the relegation spots but are by no means safe, but Karanka will eye this encounter as winnable following a difficult start to his tenure at the City Ground.

Hull are in the bottom three but just a point from safety, and a trip to an out of form Forest side has come at the perfect time for Adkins’ men.

Prutton cannot see the two sides being separated on the day, going for a 1-1 draw.

The Verdict

Both of these sides have been poor so far, and this really is a huge clash for both sides.

Lose and Forest could be within six points of the drop, and a win for Hull is likely to life them out of the bottom three.

However following a solid end to the transfer window and having had time to blend his new recruits into the squad, I feel Karanka’s Reds will have the edge in this one in a close fought match up.

I’m going Forest 2- 1 Hull.
