Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has backed Blackpool to inflict a further setback on Hull City tonight by taking all three points back with them to Bloomfield Road.
Hull head into the game off the back of another frustrating result with them having been beaten 2-0 away from by Stoke City on Saturday.
However, the scoreline perhaps does not reflect the nature of the game and Grant McCann’s side were competitive throughout and just undone by two moments of quality.
The defeat though was the Tigers’ third in a row in the Championship. While it also stretched their winless run in the league to eight matches since they were able to secure an impressive 4-1 victory over Preston.
McCann’s side simply have to start putting points on the board very soon after dropping down to second-bottom in the league.
Goals remain a major issue for them and after scoring in the 3-1 loss to Sheffield United, it was another goalless outing for them at Stoke on Saturday.
Blackpool, meanwhile, have really started to turn a corner over the last few matches with the Tangerines claiming three wins from their last four league games.
Saturday’s 1-0 win at home to Barnsley secured back-to-back wins in the Championship for Blackpool for the first time this season. That saw them lift themselves up to 14th place in the table.

Making his latest round of Championship predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton suggested that Blackpool’s upturn in form over the last few weeks will be too much for Hull to handle. He backs the Tangerines to run out narrow 1-0 winners.
This is a huge game for both of these two sides who are heading in opposite directions at the moment following them being promoted together from League One last season.
Blackpool have all of the momentum heading into the game and the signs are that they are really starting to build something this season under Critchley.
The Tangerines grew into last season as well and then ended up enjoying an excellent second half of the campaign to reach the League One play-offs.
Such an impressive run is not expected this term, but if they maintain their current form then they will not be in danger of relegation at least.
Hull, meanwhile, look a side that are in major trouble now with them struggling for both goals and points. They have to start winning games and this one at home to Blackpool is one that they have to target as a real chance to end their winless run.
