Sky Pundit David Prutton believes that Leeds recent run of poor results could be a blessing in disguise as they hunt a place in the Premier League this season.

The Whites have lost two games on the bounce, with West Brom beating them after Christmas before Forest came from 2-1 down to beat them 4-2 on the opening day of 2019.

They're still top of the league after rivals also suffered and Prutton is sure that the results can be used positively as they move into the final part of the season.

Writing in the Yorkshire Post he identified realistic expectations as one positive outcome from the blip.

"The last couple of games, if you’re looking at it in a positive light, will make sure that expectations remain realistic and that they stay in check."

"The good thing that can come from this little run of bad results is that it gives the whole squad a bit of a reality check."

This weekend sees Bielsa take his side into FA Cup action, giving them brief respite from the task in hand. When the Championship resumes a week later, they host Derby County before making the trip to Stoke City.

The Verdict

Prutton is right to a degree, the results will serve as a reality check. What they must do is bounce back in style though. If they continue to stumble, pressure will grow and the teams below them won't always lose.

The FA Cup game is huge because it's a great chance to get back to winning ways quickly. They can be a bit more adventurous if they want with out league points at stake.
