Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has suggested that Blackpool will be able to secure all three points from their trip to Swansea City on Saturday and get back to winning ways.

Swansea City head into the game aiming to bounce back from their 4-0 defeat away at AFC Bournemouth in their last game before the international break. That saw the Swans lose some of the momentum that they had been building in the previous weeks under Russell Martin and drop them back down to 12th place in the table.

Having said that, Swansea are still in a better position than they were a few months ago and they had managed to secure three wins from four prior to that defeat at Bournemouth.

As a result, this game against Blackpool will be a real chance for them to get back on track and ensure that they keep in touch with the sides above them in the Championship table.

Blackpool, meanwhile, head into the game aiming to re-find their momentum after they managed to pick up just one point from their last two matches against Stoke City and QPR before the international break. That brought an end to their three successive wins in the league that moved them into the top half of the table.

Neil Critchley’s side could potentially move themselves into the top-six in the Championship with a win against Swansea if other results went their way as well on Saturday. Therefore, this will be seen as a great chance for them to continue their good start to the campaign.

Making his latest round of predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton suggested that Blackpool will be able to edge out Swansea on Saturday and head back to Bloomfield Road with all three points. He believes that they will run out 2-1 winners.

The verdict

This is a crucial match for both of these two sides because they are both in the group of sides chasing the top-six after pushing up from the bottom half of the table in recent weeks.

Blackpool would be able to send out a major statement on Saturday if they were able to get back to winning ways against Swansea. They arguably could have won their game against QPR last time out and if they can produce a similar level of performance against the Swans then Prutton might be proven right in his prediction.

Having said that, Swansea had been in excellent form under Martin until their 4-0 loss against Bournemouth last time out. The Swans will be aiming to show a reaction from that and you would expect a much-better performance from them against Blackpool.

The winner of this game could potentially put themselves in a strong position to really go on and challenge the current top-six for their place in the play-offs.
