West Brom host QPR on Friday evening, with the hosts yet to taste defeat in the Championship this season.

The Baggies have won four and drawn four in their opening eight games of the season, a points tally that leaves in third place and just two points of Bournemouth at the second-tier summit.

Despite their positive start, West Brom have drawn their last three games, struggling to earn all three points in games against Derby County, Millwall, and Preston North End.

QPR travel to the Midlands have lost their previous two games, after not losing any of their opening six.

The R's, who have been labelled dark horses for promotion, or at the very least a play-off place, fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Bournemouth, before losing by the same scoreline at home to Bristol City at the weekend.

David Prutton believes in his Sky Sports column that West Brom will play out a fourth draw in succession, predicting a 2-2 scoreline.

The verdict

The Baggies looked extremely dominant in the opening few games, with Valerien Ismael meeting instant success in his new role.

However, they have struggled to see games off over the last couple of weeks, and even before the succession of draws, they narrowly edged past Peterborough United.

The R's will not be too disheartened by their latest results. They have shown plenty of promise throughout the early stages of the season, after a successful transfer window.

It should be an excellent game at The Hawthorns between two teams full of talent, and a 2-2 prediction is a fair shout. Although, it would be no surprise to see West Brom back to their very best with a week of recuperation.
