Sky Sports pundit David Prutton feels that there is a lot of responsibility on striker Patrick Bamford to deliver after Kemar Roofe's injury.

The 26-year-old, who is the Whites top scorer, has picked up a knee injury that could keep him out for up to eight weeks.

Therefore, Bamford is sure to get an extended run in the team and Prutton wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column that he needs to take this chance to be the main man for the team.

"Bamford has now got to hit the ground running and stay fit.

"There will be an extra pressure on him but strikers seem to like that though they are big shoes to fill, not just in term of the goals Kemar has scored but also the pressing he does."

The former Middlesbrough striker has suffered terribly with injuries himself this season, which has restricted him to just nine league appearances.

However, he has featured in the last three, scoring in the defeat against Norwich earlier this month.

Bamford is sure to lead the line this afternoon as Marcelo Bielsa's side welcome struggling Bolton to Elland Road.

The Verdict

This is exactly right from Prutton and it's a big chance for Bamford to make himself the main man for Leeds in this promotion push.

He's had a frustrating campaign so far but he is fit and ready now to make a massive impact.

Roofe's injury is a blow, there's no doubt about that, but Leeds do have quality players in the squad and it's down to those to deliver - starting against Bolton today.
