Sky Sports expert shares pre-match prediction for Sheffield Wednesday’s clash with Norwich City

Norwich City will be looking to extend their sizeable advantage over the rest of their promotion-chasing rivals in the Championship, when they return to action on Sunday.

The Canaries are currently sat top of the second-tier standings, and are ten points clear of second-placed Watford after a strong run of form under the management of Daniel Farke.

Norwich beat Luton Town 3-0 last weekend, which meant that they’ve now won their last seven matches, which certainly makes for good reading for the club’s supporters.

They’re set to take on struggling Sheffield Wednesday in their next match, in what is likely to be a closely-fought battle between the two teams at Hillsborough.

The Owls have found a positive run of results hard to come by in the Championship this season, with Darren Moore’s side sat 23rd in the table, and seven points adrift of safety heading into the clash with the Canaries in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 3-0 by Reading in their last match, although they had Julian Borner dismissed for a professional foul early into the clash at the Madejski Stadium, which led to Michael Olise opening the scoring from the penalty spot.

Sky Sports’ EFL expert David Prutton has predicted that Norwich will run out narrow 1-0 winners over Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, as the Canaries look to keep promotion in their own hands with a positive outcome at Hillsborough.

The Verdict:

Surely we’ll see a Norwich win here?

The Canaries have been brilliant in recent weeks, and they fully deserve to be holding top spot in the Championship heading into the final 11 matches of this year’s campaign.

Sheffield Wednesday have been struggling for confidence for much of this season, and I can’t see them picking up any points against a team that are vying for promotion back into the Premier League.

The Owls seem to be sleepwalking into League One, and I really do fear for their survival chances if they’re to put in another poor performance against Norwich this weekend.
