Birmingham City and Middlesbrough will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship tonight, as the two sides prepare to meet at St. Andrew's.

Both sides have endured hugely frustrating starts to the season, with the home side losing 1-o to Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Tuesday night.

Pep Clotet's side have lost their last three games on the spin, winning only four of their first 10 league matches thus far this term.

Tonight, they come up against a Middlesbrough side that are also struggling to pick up wins at present.

They have struggled to adapt to life under Jonathan Woodgate, with the Teesside club winning only two games so far this season, and picking up just one win from their last six games.

A massive three points are up for grabs for both sides tonight, and Sky Sports presenter David Prutton has predicted a narrow 1-0 home win for Blues.

He said: "Birmingham are having such an inconsistent campaign. At moments they have looked excellent and like they could have a push for the top six, and other times they seem like they could easily slip towards the relegation zone.

"Middlesbrough fans will want to give Jonathan Woodgate time to get things right because of his connections with the club, but 20th at this stage is not good enough for them. I think the Blues will nick this one."

Birmingham currently occupy 14th spot in the Sky Bet Championship table, whilst Boro sit 20th in the league standings, four points clear of the relegation zone.

The Verdict

I cannot see this one being a game for the neutral by any means - both sides struggle to score goals, and they struggle to keep balls out of the net too.

Boro have endured a terrible start to the season under Woodgate, but at times, Blues have showed really positive signs under Clotet, especially at home.

I agree with Prutton on this one - I can see it being a narrow win for Blues, but I can only see there being one goal in the game.
