Sky Sports expert issues verdict on Luton v Sheffield Wednesday

Published

on

EFL Sky Sports expert David Prutton has predicted that Sheffield Wednesday will draw 2-2 with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

The Owls travel south in dreadful form, having lost four of their last five and seen Brentford put three past them in midweek.

That run has left them one place off the bottom and three points adrift of safety as we head toward the business end of the season.

They’re hosted by a Luton side that have struggled themselves of late, winning just once in their eight games in all competitions.

Nathan Jones’ side battled for a 1-1 draw against Millwall in midweek and, on the Sky Sports website, Prutton has backed them to avoid defeat once again on Saturday.

He has suggested it will be a high-scoring affair, however, predicting a 2-2 draw at Kenilworth Road.

Caretaker boss Neil Thompson could be without seven senior players to the weekend’s game with Liam Shaw still suspended and Massimo Luongo, Joost van Aken, Moses Odubajo, Dom Iorfa, Keiren Westwood, and Andre Green injured.

Jack Marriott could be set to feature for just the second time since November, however.

His opposition coach looks set to have his options limited as well, with Eunan O’Kane and Tom Lockyer out, while Matty Pearson is questionable.

The Verdict

Both sides come into this side lacking form, which could make it a really scrappy affair.

You know what you’re going to get from Jones’ side in terms of their effort and industry but it will likely be all about whether they can back that up with some quality.

For the visitors, it’s likely to come down to whether they can create enough going forward – having failed to score in their last three.
