It must be amazing to be a Leeds fan right now.

They've seen false dawns before, but the manner in which they've started this campaign feels very different.

They've pioneered a swashbuckling style of play which has fans and neutrals alike purring with delight.

The slick passing and movement they've displayed is akin to some of the very best sides in the world and if they maintain the intensity and desire they'll be right up there all season.

Former Leeds player David Prutton agrees, happily waxing lyrical about his former employers in his weekly Sky Sports column.

"I think it's tentatively fair to say that Leeds are looking good. Their demolition of Derby last weekend proved their victory over Stoke on opening day was no fluke and it's just about whether they can maintain that level now."

They face Yorkshire rivals Rotherham this weekend, promoted from League One last season and coming into the fixture on the back of a huge win. That shouldn't make a big difference according to Prutton.

"Rotherham got a massive win over Ipswich last weekend, but it's hard to see them matching Leeds if Marcelo Bielsa's side play the way they have been so far. This should be a comfortable home win."

The Verdict

This is one of two bankers on the Championship fixture list this week, West Brom and QPR being the other.

Rotherham are preparing for the season nicely, signing Ryan Manning and giving a start to Norwich loanee Sean Raggett in the cup. They're relying on loans to bolster their squad and they know their season will not be won or lost at Elland Road.

It is the sides around them they need to beat and anything other than a big Leeds victory will raise eyebrows this weekend.
