Barnsley will be hoping to banish their blues away from home as they make the trip to promotion rivals Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon.
The Tykes haven’t won away from home since their resounding 4-0 victory away to Peterborough United, losing 2-0 and 3-1 away to Charlton Athletic and Shrewsbury Town respectively.
But Daniel Stendel’s men go into the fixture full of confidence on the back of three home wins in a row in all competitions, – the Yorkshire club sitting fourth in the League One table, just four points off the automatic promotion places with a game in hand.
The trip to Lancashire will be a good test for Barnsley – Accrington have a magnificent home record and is renowned for being a very tough place to go.
What does Sky Sports pundit David Prutton think however? Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Leeds United man predicted a 1-0 win to Accrington.
“Accrington will be disappointed to have dropped out of the play-off places, albeit only on goal difference, but they are still performing well above expectation in their first season at this level.”
“Barnsley have, at times, played probably the best football in League One, but they have also blown a little hot and cold under Daniel Stendel – I think Stanley can edge this one.”
I can see it being a tough afternoon for Barnsley – the Tykes play some exquisite stuff however will they be able to do that on a surface like Accrington’s? Stanley are good at home and I can see them nicking one, just like Prutton predicts.
