Sky Sports EFL expert David Prutton has issued his verdict on Birmingham City's final day Championship tie with Blackburn Rovers, predicting it will finish as a 1-1 draw.

Blues fans will be jubilant that heading into the final round of fixtures, their second-tier survival has already been confirmed.

The arrival of Lee Bowyer has seen them climb the table over the past month and they could now finish as high as 15th with a win on Saturday.

Blackburn have not finished the season with a similar flourish but there have been some positive results recently and you feel Tony Mowbray would love nothing more than to end the 2020/21 campaign with three points.

In his predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton has suggested that won't happen and forecasted that the game at Ewood Park will end as a 1-1 draw.

That result could see the Blues finish the season in 16th should Coventry City and Nottingham Forest both lose tomorrow, while it would mean that Rovers end the season in 15th.

The Verdict

Bowyer's impressive run as Blues boss was ended in a heavy 4-0 defeat to Cardiff City last weekend and he'll be determined to see a response from his side in the final game of the season.

With a relatively new manager at the helm, the Birmingham squad will likely be determined to prove their quality before the summer window opens.

It doesn't look as though Blackburn have quite as much to play for and though they come into the game in relatively good nick, their last four games have been against four of the Championship's bottom five sides.

The Blues could just have too much for them but a draw would be no surprise.
