After a hectic week in the Championship, the action continues this weekend as the season begins to take shape.

Pride Park is the stage for this weekend’s clash between the Rams and the Bees.

Derby County host Brentford in what is sure to be a game for the purists.

Both sides like to keep the ball on the deck and knock it around, but one side has had more success this season than the other.

Brentford are on a sensational run of form, having only lost once this season and are unbeaten in their last three league games but are yet to win away this season.

The Bess struggled away to Ipswich last time out, managing only a point at Portman Road in the week.

Frank Lampard’s men, meanwhile, haven’t won in two matches, losing last weekend to Rotherham before dropping two points against Blackburn in a game where they had 22 shots on goal.

Brentford sit third in the division and Derby ninth ahead of match day nine tomorrow.

With that said, Sky Sports’ David Prutton has looked ahead to this weekend’s clash.

Prutton explained: “Derby did pretty much everything but score against Blackburn on Tuesday night, and Frank Lampard would have been a little frustrated as they came away with their first draw of the season.

“Brentford should have been a few goals ahead as well before eventually being pegged back by Ipswich as they lost a little bit of ground on Leeds at the top.

“I think they'll make up for that by sneaking a win at Pride Park. 1-2.”

The Verdict

Derby’s recent home form has been impressive with Brentford being less than spectacular away from home.

On paper, both sides have strong squads, and it looks like it could be a draw.

But with Derby wobbling again as of late, now is the time for Dean Smith’s men to attack the game and look to improve their less than impressive away form.

I can see Brentford getting their first win away from home this weekend in a narrow 1-0 win for the London side.
