Leeds United entertain Derby County tonight in what is a pivotal fixture for both sides.

The two enter the game in contrasting form, with the hosts losing four of their previous five fixtures. The Rams meanwhile will be looking to make it four wins in a row.

Despite that, the Yorkshire club are above tonight's opponents in the table, with one point separating the pair. Given that, it should be a very close game and that is exactly what Sky Sports' EFL pundit David Prutton thinks too, predicting a 1-1 draw in his regular column.

Whilst that result wouldn't be a disaster for either side, Leeds in particular will be desperate for three points in order to end this current bad sequence of results.

Thomas Christiansen will have to make changes too, following Friday night's defeat at home to Sheffield United. Skipper Liam Cooper is out injured and is likely to be replaced by Pontus Jansson. However, there could be many more new faces in the team after the manner of the defeat last time out.

For Derby, there are fewer issues, but Gary Rowett does have a dilemma up front, with Sam Winnall and Chris Martin pushing Matej Vydra and Dave Nugent close for a starting spot.

The Verdict

As with most Championship games, this looks very difficult to call on paper, so you can see why Prutton has gone for a score draw.

Leeds home advantage, in front of a vociferous support should compensate for their poor form and make this an even contest.

Yet, both know the importance of a win and with the fight for the play-offs so tight, those extra two points could make a big difference.
