Derby County host Ipswich Town at Pride Park this evening in the next round of Championship fixtures.

Frank Lampard’s men will be looking to get back to winning ways after two successive defeats against Leeds United and Millwall respectively.

The Rams have only one win to their name so far having secured a late victory over Reading on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

Ipswich, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win of the campaign after two draws and a defeat since Paul Hurt's arrival at Portman Road.

If Sky Sports’ David Prutton’s prediction is anything to go by, then the Tractor Boys' first win of the new season isn’t too far away.

Prutton is predicting a 1-0 win for Ipswich to pile more misery on Lampard and make it three consecutive defeats for the Rams’ new boss.

The pundit told Sky Sports: “I think it would be harsh to say the Rams are struggling but there are a few teething problems happening at Pride Park at the moment.

“I don't think Frank Lampard is under any illusions as to how challenging the job is going to be and he's embracing it, which I find quite admirable.

“In spite of that, I'll have to plump for a win for Paul Hurst's men.”

The Verdict

Derby County are hitting a slump that needs to be arrested before it comes a run of defeats and the pressure is piled on fledgeling manager Frank Lampard.

The Rams are back on their patch for the first time since the 4-1 hammering against Leeds, and after this past weekend’s defeat at The Den at the hands of Millwall.

Paul Hurt’s Ipswich are searching for their first win and held Aston Villa to a one-all draw which should give them some confidence.

It is the perfect time to play Derby, who are still trying to become a cohesive unit under Lampard,  and if Hurst can get his players up for it, then they could spring a surprise.

But a draw seems the most likely result. A 1-1 draw at Pride Park this evening.
