David Prutton is backing AFC Bournemouth to continue their challenge at the sharp end of the Sky Bet Championship with a win over Rotherham United this weekend, as per his Sky Sports column.

The Cherries have had a good season so far with them and Norwich City the two sides currently looking the teams to beat in the second tier at the moment.

Rotherham, meanwhile, are just above the relegation zone and could have nicked a point at QPR on Tuesday night had a poor refereeing call gone their way late on and given them a penalty.

No time to think about that, though, as the games keep on coming and Prutton is predicting a close-run affair, but that the Cherries will emerge victorious:

"Rotherham have lost four from their last five, and even Paul Warne would admit they go into most Championship games as underdogs.

"This is going to be tough. I've watched Bournemouth closely in the last couple of weeks and they've just got so many players who can turn it on, whether it be David Brooks, Junior Stanislas, Dominic Solanke or Arnaut Danjuma. The list goes on. Cherries win for me. 1-2."

The Verdict

Rotherham will certainly make it tough for Bournemouth with them showing their fight and grit in the second half of the game at QPR.

The Cherries showed real quality earlier this week with the likes of David Brooks shining, however, and you can perhaps see why Prutton is siding with that being the reason behind a potential away win this weekend.

It should be a competitive affair between the two sides, though, and both will hope they can get a result.
