Coventry City have confirmed reports that Marcus Tudgay is currently training with the club.
After Sky Sports News videos seemed to show Tudgay participating in training at the club’s base in Ryton, it was reported on Football League World that the former Nottingham Forest forward was on trial with the club.
The club succinctly stated on their official website that Tudgay “arrived at the club’s Ryton training ground on Monday where he has been taking part in sessions with a view to securing a deal.”
Tudgay was released by Nottingham Forest this summer after loan spells last season with Barnsley and Charlton in the Championship. The former Derby and Sheffield Wednesday forward joined Forest in 2011 after a successful loan spell.
The 31 year-old scored 13 times in 61 appearances at the City Ground but had fallen out of favour by the beginning of the 2012/13 season.
Coventry City boss Steven Pressley has recently revealed that he is looking to add four new strikers to his squad following the sale of Callum Wilson to Bournemouth. The Sky Blues recently signed Shaun Miller after a successful trial spell.
