The Football League has announced it's three-man shortlist for Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Year 2014-15.

Danny Mayor (Bury), Alfie Mawson (Wycombe Wanderers) and Ryan Woods (Shrewsbury Town) are the nominees for the award, voted by each of the managers in each division of the Football League.

Each manager was asked to list their top five players from this season in order, with the scores added up to get a shortlist and an overall winner.

Danny Mayor has been ever present in the Bury line-up this season and a key asset to the Shakers side, scoring 8 goals so far. His ability, pace and long-range trait has helped the midfielder impress in League Two.

Mawson is currently on loan at the Chairboys from Brentford and has built a solid partnership with former Bee, Aaron Pierre in the centre of Wycombe's defense. Mawson has made fans, not only at Adams Park but across the country with his displays, helping Wycombe to a promotion push and with 14 clean sheets and 5 goals to his name.

Ryan Woods has inserted himself as a key member of Shrewbury's first eleven and has delighted fans with his excellent passing ability. Woods has played through the Shrews' ranks, helping with the club's promotion hopes this season and being subject for a move away from the New Meadow to Premier League or Championship club.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Football League Awards, there are 10 categories for clubs and players to win from. Shortlists for the Sky Bet Players of the Year in League 1 and the Championship will be announced ahead of the weekend.

Other categories include the Family Club of the Year, Johnstone’s Paint Community Club of the Year, PFA Player in the Community, Capital One Supporter of the Year, the Mitre Goal of the Year, LFE Apprentice of the Year, the Sir Tom Finney Award, the Tokio Marine Club Hero Award andthe Football Manager Team of the Decade with 11 selected players and a manager selected based on performances from the past 10 seasons.

The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Sunday 19th April 2015.
