The 23-year-old signed for the Posh in 2014 from Newport County for £500,000, and has made a fine start to his career at London Road.

The League One striker is currently on a run of nine goals in nine games, including a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United last month, helping his club to become the top goalscorers in English football this season.

He's now being tracked by three Championship sides looking to add goals to their promotion bids, in the form of Cardiff City, Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Cardiff have a number of strikers amongst their ranks but none of which are firing this season - their joint top goalscorers being Kenwyne Jones and Joe Mason with five goals each.

Birmingham have slipped out of the play-offs after a poor run of form, with last season's top scorer Clayton Donaldson falling flat in front of goal this year.

Wolves have firepower in England Under-21 striker Benik Afobe and Adam Le Fondre, but are still struggling without Nouha Dicko, and will look to Washington to fill his void.

It remains to be seen whether any of these three clubs make a move for the talented youngster in January, but Posh boss Graham Westley will no doubt hope to keep him as his side bid for promotion to the Championship.
