Fulham's recent bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz is thought to be well short of their £15m-plus valuation and not one the Championship club will entertain, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

The forward enjoyed the best season of his career in 2021/22 and has made a strong start to the new campaign so with less than 12 months on his current deal at Ewood Park, there has been lots of speculation surrounding his future this summer.

Reports last night revealed that Premier League new boys Fulham were the latest club to submit a bid and Blackburn's response has now been revealed.

The Lancashire Telegraph has reported that the offer was well short of Rovers' valuation of Brereton Diaz, which is thought to be in excess of £15 million, and will not be considered by the North West club.

The Chile international cost the club around £7 million when they bought him from Nottingham Forest in 2019 and they risk seeing him leave as a free agent next summer while he will be able to sign a pre-contract with an overseas side in January.

The Verdict

It could be a busy deadline day at Ewood Park with all eyes on Brereton Diaz's situation.

Fulham are the latest club to submit an offer but it seems that was short of Rovers' valuation and the Championship outfit's stance is that they aren't ready to lower that.

They've held a strong stance throughout the window and despite his contract situation, it appears they're prepared to hold that until the deadline.

Whether a side reaches the £15m-plus asking price remains to be seen but if they don't, we can expect the Chile international to remain with Blackburn.
