Coventry City are currently enjoying better times on-field, with the Sky Blues securing a return to the Championship.

Things haven’t been rosy for Coventry over the years, however, with the Sky Blues falling through the Football League.

Contributing to that has been some questionable signings, which has led us down the path of picking out SIX of the worst additions the Sky Blues have made…

The Romanian international passed through Coventry in 1998, but he struggled to make the impact that might’ve been expected of him.

In total, he managed only 10 league appearances, passing through the club in a number of months.

Kyle was on the books at Coventry between 2006 and 2009, but his spell in sky blue was woeful.

He scored five goals in 44 league appearances and received two red cards before he was shipped out on loan to the likes of Wolves and Hartlepool.

Sherwood had been an England international, won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers and had a decent stint at Tottenham, but on his way to retirement he passed through the doors at Coventry.

11 appearances later, he was gone, which just about tells the story of a failed move.

Ramage managed only four appearances for Coventry in 2016 as he passed through the club.

The ex-Newcastle United defender was a fairly high-profile addition, but, again, he never made the grade.

Yakubu is another high-profile flop on this list of names.

The striker made a name for himself in England at Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Everton, but by the time he reached Coventry in 2017, his peak was long gone.

Three appearances and no goals tells the story.

Back in the 1990’s, Yevtushok arrived at Coventry, but the Ukraine international didn’t last long.

Like Yakubu, he made just three appearances for the Sky Blues.
