Reading winger Yakou Meite has waded into the debate surrounding Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa and his spying tactics.

Taking to Twitter, the 22-year-old comically referenced the Royals' clash with the Whites at Elland Road back in November after the Argentinian admitted to watching every opponent train so far this season.

"I know why I didn't touch the ball against them then," Meite wrote, referencing the recent revelations.

Bielsa held a marathon hour-long press conference last night in order to address the spying talk and explain why he does it and how much preparation goes into watching every single match.

The Royals held their own impressively when they travelled to Leeds earlier in the season, losing 1-0 as well as missing a last-minute penalty.

Meite has been impressive for the struggling side this season, scoring six times in 22 Championship appearances as Jose Gomes looks to guide them to safety.

This weekend sees them travel to Derby whilst Leeds face Stoke City at the Bet365 stadium.

The verdict

This just proves further how little an issue this actually is.

Many football commentators remain outraged by Bielsa's actions despite many within the footballing community not really caring.

The Argentinian proved his intense preparations were his biggest strength and the spying on training was merely an avoidance of anxiety.
