Leeds United have endured a frustrating few seasons, as they previously struggled in the Championship.

The Whites have turned it around under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa though, and they look set to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this term.

On Friday, it was ten years to the day that Leeds United won promotion from League One in dramatic circumstances in front of a packed Elland Road.

The Yorkshire-based side finished second in the League One table that season, which saw them finish a point ahead of third-placed Millwall.

Leeds were hugely impressive that season, and the club's supporters took to the Elland Road turf when the full-time whistle went on the final day of that campaign against Bristol Rovers.

The Whites were managed by Simon Grayson at the time, and he was clearly delighted to guide his side into the second-tier of English football.

Grayson took to

Grayson was dismissed from his role in charge of Leeds in February 2012 after a poor run of result saw them struggling in the Championship.

The Verdict:

What a season this was.

Leeds had suffered back-to-back frustrating seasons in League One before this campaign, having been beaten in the play-offs in the two previous years.

So, to win promotion in such dramatic circumstances on the final day of the season was something special for everyone associated with the club.

The Elland Road faithful have had to endure a frustrating few years in the Championship since, but look as though they're finally ready to make the step up to the Premier League under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa this term.
