Leeds United have endured a frustrating few seasons, as they previously struggled in the Championship.
The Whites have turned it around under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa though, and they look set to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this term.
On Friday, it was ten years to the day that Leeds United won promotion from League One in dramatic circumstances in front of a packed Elland Road.
The Yorkshire-based side finished second in the League One table that season, which saw them finish a point ahead of third-placed Millwall.
Leeds were hugely impressive that season, and the club’s supporters took to the Elland Road turf when the full-time whistle went on the final day of that campaign against Bristol Rovers.
The Whites were managed by Simon Grayson at the time, and he was clearly delighted to guide his side into the second-tier of English football.
Grayson took to Instagram on the ten-year anniversary of the promotion-winning season, and stated that the squad were a ‘special group of players’.
Grayson was dismissed from his role in charge of Leeds in February 2012 after a poor run of result saw them struggling in the Championship.
