Mark Bowen has taken over as Reading manager, after Jose Gomes was relieved of his duties following five defeats in six matches.

The appointment came as a surprise to Royals supporters as Bowen was the current Sporting Director at the club and has had no previous first-team manager experience.

With Bowen becoming manager, it leaves a position vacant at the club with his old job of Sporting Director now available for a new successor.

Twitter account, ReadingFCHQ, asked the question on the social media site whether Royals supporters would welcome Steve Coppell back as the new Director of Football. It's an interesting debate as Coppell is one of the most successful managers in Reading's history and guided them to the points record of 106.

He also took the Royals to eighth in the Premier League, and will be remembered as a Reading legend for a long time.

Here's how Reading supporters reacted to the question that was posed to them...
