As the EFL 2017/18 campaign draws ever closer to a beginning, Aston Villa fans will be going into the new season full of optimism under Steve Bruce.

The Midlands club endured an extremely disappointing campaign last term, as they finished 13th in the Championship standings a staggering 18 points off the Play-Off places.

For a squad of Villa's quality and experience, the Villa Park faithful will be expecting nothing but a complete romp on the second tier this season, under the guidance of Bruce and exciting owner Tony Xia.

Jonathan Kodjia was a revelation for Villa last term, netting 19 times in 36 appearances following his £15million arrival from Bristol City, though the likes of fellow forwards Scott Hogan and Ross McCormack have failed to hit the ground running.

Therefore, the addition of another striker wouldn't go amiss.

One player who Bruce should definitely look to bring to Villa Park, and reignite interest in during the summer is none other than Hull City's Abel Hernandez, who is valued at a price of £6.8million on Transfermarkt.com.

Hernandez is definitely no stranger to Villa boss Steve Bruce, having been so prolific under him at Hull, scoring 20 times in 39 appearances for the Tigers in their promotion winning campaign in 2015/16, and was also linked with a move to Villa Park last year.

But the Uruguayan netted just 4 times in a disappointing 24 appearances for City last term, as the club suffered immediate relegation from the Premier League.

Hernandez, 26. also possesses strong international pedigree, having scored 11 times in a total of 27 appearances for the Uruguayan national team, and following Hull's relegation from the top flight, Villa should definitely look to get him for a cut-price.

So...what do you think Villa fans? Should Villa go in for Abel Hernandez? Do you even need another striker? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
