West Bromwich Albion produced their most dominant display of Valerien Ismael’s tenure yesterday as they hammered Sheffield United 4-0 at the Hawthorns and many Baggies fans were impressed by Alex Mowatt’s display.
Mowatt followed Ismael from Barnsley to Albion earlier in the summer and reprised his role as the French coach’s trusted midfield lieutenant – starting all three of their Championship games this term.
The 26-year-old produced arguably his most impressive performance to date in a blue and white shirt yesterday as he marshalled the midfield brilliantly and even popped up with a goal of his own.
Mowatt was set through on goal by Karlan Grant and slotted the ball past Blades goalkeeper Michael Verrips to give the hosts their third and send the Hawthorns into absolute pandemonium.
Callum Robinson capped off an impressive performance by making it 4-0 later in the second half, in a victory that leaves the Baggies top of the Championship table.
Have West Brom won or lost more against each of these 25 English teams?
It was their new midfield general that was receiving much of the plaudits, however, with many Albion fans taking to Twitter to heap praise on him.
